The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) put into operation the new clearing and settlement system as part of the project for the development of the National Payment System. CMA Small Systems AB (CMA) was responsible for application software within the framework of this project.
The Project task was to develop and implement an automated system of bulk payments collection and batch processing. Access to the system is executed via the dedicated network providing high-speed, secure information exchange between the system participants and CBL. BCS/X also supports the "shared access areas" in case of unforeseen connection breaks with one or several participants. CMA's Real Time Gross Settlement System (RTGS) had already been working in the CBL by the time of BCS/X implementation.
